De Wilde’s background is in music and fashion photography, and her first foray into feature filmmaking is overtly gorgeous: a riot of feathered bonnets, corkscrew curls, and colorful carriage dresses. “It’s like swimming in a giant cupcake,” says Taylor-Joy.
