One of the winter festivals most unique to Fukushima: Shirakawa Daruma Market! Daruma dolls of all sizes are sold at lines of little stalls near Shirakawa Station. It's a Japanese custom to draw in the right eye of your daruma, make a wish, and only complete the remaining eye when you wish comes true, so they're the perfect purchase for motivation to complete new year's resolutions! This year's Daruma Market will be held on February 11.
