I get tremendous courage from his music and life. And I'm always impressed by his infinite patience with all the obstacles, espcially his hearing loss (Ok, he had a couple of slumps and couldn't compose for a while) and his power to go forward, further and bigger under his conviction until the end of his life. It's simply wonderful... For the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics in the coming summer, I think that athletes are working hard every day in their own situations. So I chose these two words in order to cheer them up. I will also do my best every day with courage and patience. 今年の書初めは、「勇気」と「忍耐」にしました。生誕250年を迎えたベートーヴェンの音楽と人生からは、多大な勇気をもらいます。そして彼の凄まじい忍耐力、（二度ほどスランプはありましたが）困難な状況にも立ち向かい、自分の信念に基づいて、更に遠くへ、更に大きく前進し、数々の名作を残し人生を全うしたことは、本当に素晴らしいと思います。夏に行われる東京オリンピック・パラリンピックに向けて、アスリートの皆様もそれぞれのシチュエーションで日々研鑽積まれていることと思います。彼らへのエールも込めて、この二つの言葉を選びました。私も、勇気と忍耐を持って、日々精進してまいります。本年もよろしくお願い申し上げます。 #書初め #勇気 #忍耐 #courage #patience」1月2日 12時36分
