The developers of True Surf – working in conjunction with @surfline and the @世界プロサーフィン連盟（WSL） – made some unique decisions that might not make sense in the traditional gaming world… but ultimately bring the True Surf experience closer to true surfing. The waves, for example, can go flat. Why would they do that? Conditions at real world breaks are linked to real time conditions via Surfline’s camera network. So when Pipeline is pumping in real life, it’s also pumping in the game. And when it’s flat at Pipe IRL, it’s flat in the game. Sounds counter-intuitive in a classic gaming sense, but it’s things like this that actually make the game more engaging experience over time.
