“Sakamoto liked the Russian astronaut who is recording sounds of earth. We were inspired by this real astronaut to compose the music of the film. A very fragile and earthly music, as opposed to the opera which is the music you think about when you think about space, like in the Kubrick movie. Proxima is more an earth movie than a space movie.”
