That means that assuming the above is true, the other 6 in finals have their Olympic ticket 🎫 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To be top-8 in a round of 22, generally you’re “almost” secured if you have either: - two top-8 results, or - a single 🥇 or 🥈 place ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Exceptions: looking back to WCH, you can see the exceptions especially in the 9th and 10th place positions. What’s also worth noting were the 4 Japanese in each final. If you don’t want to check math throughout the rounds remember that the cutoff at WCH was 420 for women and 432 for men. Those numbers are the 3 rankings aggregated. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My first prediction is the cutoff being a slightly larger number as the top-8 from WCH aren’t competing. My next prediction is that both Bassa and @alfian_m_fajri battle for top spot in speed, and set themselves up for an instant qualification. Whomever of those 2 wins the round almost guarantees their Olympic spot! 🙌🏽 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My lead predictions are @adam.ondra ftw and @albertogines02 or @steghiso Silver, both advancing to finals and most likely an Olympic slot 🏆 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Bouldering is the hardest to predict, and naturally prone to the order of chaos. With the bouldering order randomized (or looks like it’s reverse combined ranked), it’ is often helpful to come out in the first half.
