The BEST yiros/gyros you will ever eat... is in GREECE 🇬🇷. I literally have dreams about this one I ate in Santorini with @tobi_pearce a couple of years ago... it was SO good ... we literally went there at 11am, back at 2pm and then again the same day for dinner - that's what you do on holiday haha 😂. Here's how I make yiros/gyros at home:⁣ ⁣
✅ Marinate chicken in olive oil, dried oregano, garlic, white onion, salt and pepper for a couple of hours before cooking. ⁣
✅ When it's dinner time, I'll get a pita bread and lay it out flat on a board.⁣
✅ Put olive oil and dried oregano in bowl, mix it and then brush it onto the bread using a pastry brush.⁣
✅ Put the pita bread in a pan to heat up.⁣
✅ I cook the chicken in a separate pan (the white onion in the marinade becomes caramelised - SO good).⁣
✅ Take the pita out and spread on some tzatziki, which is so easy to make - it's just Greek yoghurt, grated cucumber, garlic, olive oil, a squeeze of lemon, salt and pepper.⁣
✅ Add tomato, lettuce or whatever vegetables YOU like!⁣
