本日は、PORTER flagship storeで展開中の「ACME WHISTLES × PORTER ORIGINAL METROPOLITAN WHISTLE」をご紹介いたします。
ACME WHISTLESは1870年にJoseph Hudson氏により創業されたイギリスのホイッスルブランドで、150年近い長い伝統に裏付けられた高い品質のアイテムを製作し続けています。
1912年に沈没したあの豪華客船タイタニック号の乗組員もACMEのホイッスルを使っていたことでも知られています。
現在ではオリンピックやFIFAワールドカップなど幅広いスポーツの場で審判に利用されており、国際的評価の高いブランドです。
このアイテムは、同ブランドの「Metropolitan」をベースに、「PORTER YOSHIDA」の刻印を入れた別注モデルです。Metropolitanはアクメ社が創業当時に初めて発表したモデルで、現在でもイギリスの警察官が使用しています。

It is known for being used in 1912 on the Titanic.
