Kanoa Igarashi went from a technically skilled teen to a lead-footed larrikin when he switched to @sharpeyesurfboards in the middle of the 2018 season. We wanted to see if his new pro model, the "Storms", could provide a similar increase in speed, power, and pop to a more ...ordinary surfer (in this case, our resident nosepicker @unholypotato). mixplate8 Something just looks off about it, definitely forced turns and bogs on the release. I bet on bigger conditions it would be a reliable board but on these waves it just looks off. Could also be that his style doesn’t really match the board

boardjock42 It looks fast but most of those turns looked pretty forced, and not much use of the rail but that at least might have been a combo of the surfers skill level and the conditions🤷‍♂️.

keatondale Lads you need to stop describing Ciaramella as ‘an average surfer’ for the bulk of these board tests you do, dude absolutely shreds!!

nick_ferner_photo That shape looks nothing like what Kanoa rides. He rides tooth picks and that looks like a fish shape through the guts.
