Expectations vs Reality.
With countless waterfalls, peaks, animals, wildflowers, vistas, etc this place can feel like a dream!
But it can also feel like Disneyland with most parking lots filling up by 9 am, traffic on the roads and trails, long lines for the bathroom, extremely hard to get campsites and backcountry permits, etc.
This is the reality of a lot of National Parks and beautiful places around the world these days, just plan ahead and have realistic expectations!

I hope Park rangers and hiking guides are reading my comment, since I really need an advice. I work as a hiking guide in Majella National Park, Abruzzo, Italy. In these days there is plenty of people swimming in rivers, littering and taking dogs where it is forbidden, and I really can’t tolerate all of this. Please tell me how to get through these days without blowing my liver because of rage. They get penalties, there is signposting everywhere but they just don’t care, and when I tell them they even get offended. Please, help 🙏

Yup! We were in Yellowstone early August and this is exactly what our experience was. Camping was a nightmare and we didn’t get the memo that you had to reserve a spot long in advance. We’re used to the good ol days of spontaneity and being able to camp wherever whenever. It’s a shame national parks have turned into Disneyland

So real that you added the reality vid. It’s awesome so many people want to experience the beauty of nature. But it has its drawbacks too. The best is when you can hike or backpack into the more pristine and untouched areas... to really experience the divinity of nature. Your Astro shot is insane 😍😍😍

Omg you are not kidding! We just got back from Yosemite and anytime we were in the valley we said the same thing- "This is like Disney" 😊 We were on the trails every morning by 5:30, definitely makes a difference!

Just got back from a trip there myself - that parking lot was crazy! Took about 20 minutes to even find a spot... going at midnight though made parking easy for night shots 😛

Summer , weekends and holidays are the worst. I went to moab the week after thanksgiving a couple years ago. Saw maybe 10 people on 10 hikes. 0 traffic 0 full lots.
