recent years, I understood many of his views. But unfortunately I can only contradict this post.
What is being described is not an exclusively problem in germany but a global problem of our society. Gladly the author may continue to flee and then, after a short period of euphoria, realize that even in a new country, he will encounter many of these problems again. Germany is a desirable country that many millions of people like to come to. I am no longer willing that this country and everything we have is constantly being talked down. This country is full of critics and people who dream of escape ... but we have "still" everything we need here.
Good luck with your escape from the real problems of our society... but even so i understand it. Berlin isn’t one of my favorite cities. 😉

Have you even given yourself the chance to know any Germans? It is easy to say something like that when you have publicly said that you don't care about german culture or about learning German (language). On the other hand, you and many contemporary artists are walking on the shoulders of Joseph Bueys... as an immugrant and admirer of your work I beg you, please don't make the mistake of confusing the people who sorround you, the politicians and car company CEOs with the german society. Open your heart. Whenever you want I would gladly invite you to meet my wife and her family.

Rest assured your work in Düsseldorf had a profound impact on all those I saw experiencing it at the gallery. Thanks for bringing it here. I’m an Englishman doing experimental comedy in Germany and share some of your frustrations - a lot of audiences want what they know, not something different. Thank you for giving the people new impressions and an invitation to open their minds to other ways of thinking.

I'm a black African man living in Germany. Yes, Germany is not perfect. But it is trying hard to improve, and has been improving constantly regarding it's relationship with foreigners. I can assure you all that Germany is much, much better than many of the countries from which many of those who are bashing Germany come from. I don't mean this in any condescending way. It is just a fact.

i absolutely agree. im half kazakh half german and germans have only treated me like a german whenever they were asking for my approval after saying something racist about other foreigners. "we dont mean foreigners like you, we mean the bad ones" is something ive heard so incredibly often in my life in germany. im only recognized as a german when it fits their agenda.

Good riddance!
