I never heard the history of #OnaJudge until a guided tour of Philly by a university student of African American descent. Very grateful to my guide. I wish they put these truths in the history books. #WomanCrushWednesday

I too never heard of her till now. I thank you for sharing #OnaJudge and I will definitely read about her. Our lives are all connected by the love of life and living it free. Stana, you truly are a remarkable person yourself. You mind is like a sponge that absorbs every bit of knowledge it can and you pass it on to your fans. TU, 💗💗👍. A mind is a terrible thing to waste and you take these words to heart, and you waste none of yours'

I too, have not heard about her. I think I would enjoy the tour you took. I've never been to Philly. I think you would like the Harriet Tubman Museum in Church Creek, Maryland. It's a couple miles from my hometown. It's a beautiful museum on Harriet's life and her courage and bravery. It's also free admissions so everyone come to the Shore and stop by the museum before going to the beach!

Did you go to the president’s house (just a framework) between Visitors’ Center and Liberty Bell? She and other enslaved persons owned by the Washingtons are featured there. I once saw an interpreter portray Ona Judge. The quote that struck me was “A bird in a gilded cage is still not free” in response to why she wasn’t happy in a “good” position as Martha’s seamstress.

Agree. I’m studying at the UPenn & first learned about this great woman in my African Studies class. An amazing story of tragedy and triumph. I later visited Mount Vernon where she was born to learn more. There is a movie called The Freedom Quest of Oney Judge. #InspiringWoman
