This is the du Pont, a two-and-a-half meter telescope at the Las Campanas Observatory in Chile. It’s one of two big telescopes that are being used by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) to image millions of stars, black holes and galaxies in unprecedented detail. The SDSS is led by astrophysicist Juna Kollmeier, and she’s on a mission to create the most detailed 3D maps of the universe ever made. There was a white boy called ted that I used to mock once he took my cap i got it back and threw eggs at him, he was a gangster type 3 years above school class.
