Yesterday was crazy!!! First, i got to do backflips over #reallifedoratheexplorer @alisonsadventures and then suddenly, she got stung by a stingray! Her foot was stinging, toes going numb, but she embraced the exciting educational experience, asked tons of questions, made new friends, and even let me play the hero! 🦸♀️ Moral of the story:
1. A positive attitude can transform an extremely painful experience into an amazing adventure
2. LA beaches have lots of stingrays when the water is warm. Rather than sprint in, leaping over the waves, shuffle your feet along the bottom, so you don’t step on any of them.
3. If you get stung by a stingray, get your foot in hot water asap!!!
4. Giving piggyback rides up the stairs is an amazing glute 🏋️♂️ 😁

I got stung by a stingray on my are while fishing. It was some of the worst pain I've ever felt! We were out on a boat and didn't have access to hot water, so we had to go back to the dock and drive to the hospital. I didn't get hot water or pain killers for over an hour. It was miserable.

That is truly a crazy day! I hope Alison is much better today. I have been told to shuffle walk into the water so you don't step on stingrays, but I will pay much better attention to those words of advice in the future! Good for both of you for acting so quickly!!

Tell your friend @alisonsadventures to keep a watchful eye on her foot. I got stung a few years back in Huntington and stingray left a tiny piece of it’s barb in my foot. It turned into a gnarly staph infection.

That happened to my friend in Santa Barbara the other week. I never knew it was a thing- but apparently really common. I’m gonna be doing the stingray shuffle next time I’m in SoCal, that’s for sure!
