nette926 All you negative people need to have several seats. Number 1 this is a FICTIONAL CHARACTER, not a real being therefore it can be whatever they want it to be. Number 2 it's only half human so who are any of YOU to say what color the top half of her should be. If you absolutely must have a white skinned, red headed Ariel you got one, BUY the DVD. Let others enjoy being represented for a change. Could they make new characters of color? Sure they could but they can also put a different look on a classic story. Everything Disney does has always been in good taste and this will be no different. If you can't open your minds, then that's your ioss.

countrygal945 Really not looking forward to your live action of The Little Mermaid. I heard the rumor Awkafina is going to be Scuttle and Lin Manuel Miranda is now writing new songs. If Awkafina and Lin Manuel are involved that means there is going to be rapping in this. This is going to be more like Little Mermaid in the hood. Seriously Disney - why are you ruining classics that everyone loves. And you most definitely need to recast Ariel. Halle Bailey may be a very lovely and talent girl but she is NOT Ariel. #notmyariel
