One of the hardest parts of our time in Borneo was witnessing the Orangutans confined to cages. Whilst this was often for the animals own good, offering a temporary safe space whilst they are rehabilitated, it was impossible not to be confronted with the similarities we share with these remarkable creatures, and in turn with the sadness of their situation. Standing there and looking into the eyes of an Orangutan I felt an involuntary pang in my stomach, the type of feeling you get when you recognise something very familiar in the eyes of another being. It goes without saying that whilst Orangutans share 97% of our DNA, they also experience the same range of emotions; anger, fear, sadness, suffering and of course happiness, joy, and pleasure. @bosfoundation aims to be cage free in the future which means raising funds to create safe sanctuary’s for these animals to thrive once again in the wild. 📷:@aliceaedy #orangutanfreedom

It is indeed heartbreaking to see the look on their faces and the frustration in their eyes, it's good it will be only temporary, such an amazing job being done by @bosfoundation hopefully they will get more and more help in the future 🙌

We must encourage to halt the use of Palm Oil, there are so many alternatives. This is the main source that is destroying the fragile homes of these beautiful beings! Breaks me heart and soul to look into his eyes...💔

You should print a massive sticker and stick it on a building with similar window spacing so that when you see if from a certain angle it looks just like this
