Tomato bruschetta and Campari soda: the perfect start to a glorious dinner - as ever - at @therivercafelondon last night. The smoky char on that bread made me very happy.

chrisbaber @not ellalawson Looks amazing. What else did you have? Was there last week. Had the scallops with roasted aubergine and anchovies sauce followed by gnocchi with langoustines. Delicious! Not to mention the chocolate cake and panna cotta !!

lizcamisa @nigellalawson sadly no longer my husband's family and he has recently sold the wholesale and online business ..times are changing rapidly as so many small specialist deli shops simply cannot afford high street rents and rates.?

instavinced That does look yummy, but am I the only one that thinks that looks a tad simple for a cafe? One slice of tomato cut in half with a little oregano on slightly burnt toast?

tee_canada My post will likely get lost among all of these comments, but feel the need to point out that burnt meat and burnt toast are actually carcinogenic. Sorry, just saying...
