littlemorningglory @juliebravewriter I loved your talk at the Wild+Free Conference in Frisco, TX. I’m gearing up to homeschool my kindergartener in the fall, but I’m a licensed speech-language pathologist who gets nerdy about voice and speech questions, so I thought I’d chime in! As a therapist, I would recommend making sure to really stay hydrated, and because I’m sure you do a lot of speaking gigs, definitely take a day (or even a few hours) to go on vocal rest. You can also purchase a personal steam inhaler/humidifier online for relatively cheap that can help hydrate vocal folds. Those are just a few tips, in case you’re interested in my two cents ☺️

ericaspring6 My family was in heaven when I had vocal surgery?...silent time for 2 weeks. I tried to write on my wipe board as much and as fast as I talked. I understand why they were ? happy??

ambergontrail I suffer from random laryngitis a few times a year, the worst time was two weeks during Christmas! I downloaded an app to text to talk because I can’t parent my kids without my voice!

adtrprincess @missmayim I did vocal rest for three months and then saw a speech therapist for 8 months due to an issue I had after my tonsillectomy!! It sucks for sure!! It does get better tho🖤❤️

lee_smiley I lost my voice two Christmases ago and didn’t get it back for six months. I developed a vocal module trying to talk through it and had to have surgery plus voice therapy.
