Antique striped summer kimono (can you see how it is slightly sheer?) which I bought off my dear friend @haruminosuke 🥳
Paired with an antique summer obi of ro silk and drawings of paper umbrellas ☂
The kimono is very short so I’m wearing it “tsuitake” (対丈) that means without the ohashori fold.
Despite strict kimono folks rattling about the need of the fold - in the old time this wasn’t a thing - so don’t stress about it 😘❤️

salztokyo @vincentvangoth Well since I have bookable tours where I introduce my favourite shops ?? I can’t say much ? But Kyoto does have a lot of shops here and there. Chicago in Kyoto and Harajuku does have a selection

salztokyo @sakura_sister_ This fold has been decided on quite late actually. Since Kimono were daily clothing they were super messy and loose - I hope to go back to a more relaxed kimono wearing ??

vincentvangoth are there any shops/boutiques you’d recommend for vintage or second hand kimono? I’m going to Tokyo & Kyoto soon, and I heard that Chicago has a big selection at some of their stores..

sakura_sister_ Being very tall I often struggle to find kimono long enough that I can achieve the fold so its a relief to hear that it’s not always obligatory!
