About the project - ‘My friend Souhi originally from Korea approached me and asked me if i would it like to do a personal project. I had an idea of shooting very young asian faces. We went to Koreatown in Queens to cast people because as we did not wanted to use models. We passed by a bakery we saw some older Korean ladies having a tea. They look beautiful in their 70’s and 80’s and we were inspired to shoot older asian ladies instead of young faces and make them into paintings. I wanted to see how they felt with all that make-up, hair and clothes and to show how beautiful and interesting they are not matter how old are you. For me what comes out in the photographs is their inner beauty.’ Discover more via link in bio.
