‘This is not just a problem, a drawback, with millennial thinking in general - it’s also a problem with corporations. The DNA of the disruptor gene is the most important one that exists within a culture but how can artists be allowed disruption if analysis-driven decision-making is encouraged and the young believe in ideology over aesthetics? How can disruptors announce themselves and let their ideas flower if not only the young - but corporations as well - have a list of demands on how you can and cannot express yourself? In this case an artist ends up working only for the status quo and for pleasing the fantasies a generation has of itself. It seems that the real disruptors now are only allowed in the political arena as nationalism sweeps the globe.’ Read more in our July Issue.
