Japan and Singapore are tied for No. 1 in terms of world’s most travel-friendly passports. Both countries’ passports allow access to 189 countries, according to the Henley Passport Index, which ranks countries based on the power of their passports. The US and the UK topped the rankings in 2014, but both have slipped down to 6th place, the lowest position either has held since 2010. adilali80 Both Japan and Singapore are disciplined and ordered nations so this comes as little surprise. Whilst economic privilege (so-called G8 nations) lays the foundation for privilege in travel, the conduct of certain citizens places them higher in the rankings and this report clearly shows that. It’s unfortunate that visas are still so widely required, but I can see the use in having them as a check upon the wide assortment of passports that we have in the world and the variations in identification standards, biometrics and verifiable data.

thanosramsey This is never permanent it keeps changing. So what if you have the top 5 passports. It keeps changing from time to time. The question is how many can afford to use that passport to advantage and travel all over the world. If you can't you must ask yourself why ?. Said that i am still a proud Singaporean with my country still holding the no 1 airport/ passport/airlines till date. But anyone can beat that too if they set the standards high.
