On July 2, 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act into law, prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The law, hailed by some as the most important legislation in American history, ended segregation in public places and banned employment discrimination, and led to other landmark civil rights bills like the 1965 Voting Rights Act and the 1968 Fair Housing Act. Above, President Johnson greeted the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. at the signing. (📸: Hulton Archive/ Archive Photos/ Getty Images)

'Remembering America'. Really? American schools are just as segregated today as they were 50 years ago. Fact. 21st century: Communities are products of the hidden agenda with old/new policies under illegal but appropriate mandate. They include the all to familiar ghettoization tactics, annihilation policies and containment procedures still upheld by all of our institutions from the judiciary to law enforcement even though on the books these outdated policies are illegal.Futuristic tooling strategies applied, with new technologies advancing every day one can reasonably assume technology will be used for maintaining the staus quo of racial, economic and educational divide and still, as usual blaming those left behind under the ruse..'it's your fault you're living in those conditions, you should have tried harder to do something with your life.' President/General Eisenhower once said 'we were a nation of scapegoaters'. Def: {irresponsible people who blame others for their own doings.} When, as in the history of this country the real story was and still is, 'no matter how hard you try..WE'RE not going to let you up.' ( by the way whose 'WE?:) God bless America oh and 'oh beautiful for spacious skies and amber waves of grain' 'America, America God shed its grace on thee and crown thy hood with the brotherhood from SEA to shining sea'. I'll go with' God bless America, land that I love' oh and don't forget 'Oh say can you see', ''and so proudly we', 'at the twilight' ' 'thru the rockets red glare and bombs bursting in air gave truth thru the night that our flag was still there, oh say does that star bangled banner yet wave for the land of the free and the home of the brave ?God bless America.

Yes, these discriminatory practices are indeed outlawed..so there's no discrimination because we are all good citizens. We all work wthin the 'social contract' for the maintainance of our civilized communities and country. There's no such thing as racism anymore.. The Wizard of Oz wins.Make a wish and it comes true. Put on your little red shoes and all your problems will disappear...click your magic shoes together America and say..all together now in unison... There's no place like home, There's no place like home..If you've seen the Wizard of Oz then you know what happened with Dorothy all due to believing....the Wizard of Oz even after the curtain was opened and the Wizard behind the scene was exposed as a mere mortal. Dorothy still believed him..and her life came back. The Tin man got his diploma and the lion got his badge of courage..Click your heels in uni(sin) America..fill in the blank like a standardized test with whatever YOU believe is true and with a little reinforcement fron the 'Wizard' you can believe your opionion over any facts or realities on tv or in the world.. Example, there's no place like home..there's no such thing as discrimination, there's no such thing as racism..Your turn..There's no such thing as........... 'Everyone has a right to their own opinion in America, but no one has a right to their own facts'. There's no place like home.

@cnn my comments don't require editing because I don't twist the facts. How well do Leftwing-nuts know their history? The DemocRATic party was founded in 1829 and despite popular belief Abraham Lincoln was a Republican. The DemocRats defended slavery, initiated the Civil War, founded the Ku Klux Klan and perpetrated lynching. Maxine Waters demanded Leftwing-nuts to deny Republicans access to department stores and restaurants. The DemocRats like Maxine Waters imposed segregation between white and black people by fighting against the Civil Rights Act of the 1950's and 60's. Do you know who Robert Byrd was CNN or do you just think he was a Senator that Hillary Clinton admired?

To be more pissed at people for calling out still standing and still marching against abject ongoing systemic racism than at the reality of racism itself..
To play off today’s racism makes you willfully 'unaware’, but it’s not a position that many have not taken before. In other words you ain’t new and the world marches on.

He cannot succeed if that is his motive. It is gotten to a point where races have mixed that people won't allow any segregation attempts. Which by the way is very very good. America has moved forward. Those who embrace segregation will find life moving them to thinking and acting otherwise.
