Copenhagen was full of surprises, and this place may have been the most surprising of them all. This beautiful oasis lined with tall trees is a cemetery that holds some of Denmark’s most notable people. Philosophers, authors, physicists and even singers rest here. Obviously this place is full of stories, but to me, the most interesting thing is the fact that locals use this cemetery as a park. Here you see families taking bike rides, couples taking nice strolls and between the well spaced gravestones you will see people laying on blankets having a drink. I’ve never been to a cemetery that was so full of life. What a beautiful concept. One of the many reasons to fall in love with Denmark.
初めてのコペンハーゲンでは新しい発見がたくさんあった。一番驚いたのはこの場所。ここはコペンハーゲンではとても有名な墓地。デンマークの数々の著名人が眠るこの墓地は、公園としても使われている。家族が自転車を乗りに来ていたり、カップルがお散歩していたり、お墓のとなりの草にブランケットを敷いてピクニックをしていた人たちも多くいました。こんなに生き生きしている墓地は初めてです。ここに眠ってる人たちも楽しいだろうなとほっこりしました。やっぱりデンマークは素晴らしい国だ。
