A few years ago, after traveling to the town of Sisimiut for a cross-country ski race, a friend and I hired a local Greenlandic hunter to take us into the mountains with his dog team. It was exhilarating to travel so fast and quietly through the dramatic terrain, listening to the pattering of the dogs and the hunter's stories from a lifetime on the land.
