70kg vs 85kg. Softer arms, puffier face, bigger ass and thighs, bigger belly, uterus, placenta, water retention, huge rise in estrogen meaning more cellulite and lets be honest, my boobs are like the Mitchell brothers 😂 ALL of the above means my body is working to grow my baby and I couldn’t be more proud of it 🥰 Lots of you have DM me telling me you’re pregnant & struggling with the changes in your body. Admittedly, it is hard at first especially if like me, you were / are a gym bunny. However, if you change your way of thinking and realise firstly that pregnancy is a beautiful privilege denied to many woman so be grateful you have this opportunity, things do start to become easier. Secondly, from the minute you are carrying your baby (for me anyway) EVERYTHING became about my baby. Not my appearance. I wanted / still want them to be as strong and as healthy as possible. So if that means for the time being me as the “carrier” gains weight then so what?! 🤷🏼♀️ I can lose it in time. Yes I’ve continued my training but to nowhere near the extent I was and I’ve most certainly ate more than usual too. On the odd day I’ve felt fed up at not being able to run or lift heavy or have a good sweat on after training I’ve reminded myself that it’s temporary and that my baby is growing well and that fed up feeling disappears in seconds. If you really want to do all that stuff again after a baby, you will. You won’t find time as you’ll be exhausted, you have to make time. And if you can’t / don’t get to a gym or exercise (which many people won’t be able to) you can start on clean foods again for a few months before anything physical. Whatever you know works best for you, you can do it. Small steps make a big difference. Me being pregnant is the reason I look so different to how I “normally look” Me being a mum WONT be the reason I don’t get back to it and feeling as good again. Don’t let it be yours either! Woman are incredibly strong, the last 9 months I’ve learnt that even more so. We got this. So to the ladies currently struggling with the changes soldier on. It’ll all be worth it when little man or little lady arrives knowing their mum is a total warrior woman 😏🤰💪🏼❤️

I put on just under 6 stone with my son in 2017. Lost probably 4.5 - 5 st of it by exercising and eating better, but I was very lucky enough to have a crèche at my gym, a mum that would take baby to let me exercise, and when I returned to work I would run in my lunchbreak or to and from the office / station. I fell pregnant again in feb and am now frankly huge again after getting into bad food habits during the morning sickness phase and not keeping up my exercise :( . I'm trying not to stress about it and keep the mindframe that I'll lose it again once baby is here but I'm conscious I won't be able to afford to put two kids in the crèche now, and my mum might not be so up for minding two babies while I go to the gym! I'll find / make the time somehow and will set myself goals (5k / 10k / getting into a nice outfit for an event etc) but, and this is my 3rd baby now so I know - it IS hard, and if you're not lucky enough to have a support network or if you suffered with PND etc - must be even harder. It's good to keep a positive mindset though x

So beautifully put. I personally am one of the women unable to have a child. Actually technically I could but I have Cystic fibrosis so doctors advise against it ( plus I'm gay so not a fan of the penis ? ). I also struggle with weight, I was underweight for most of my life. At 25 I had a feeding tube in my stomach because I'm 5ft 3 and weighed 5 stone 4 pound. Gradually with overnight feeds 6 nights a week ( which was an extra 2600 calories a day ) for 8 years I slowly started gaining weight. My target was 50kg ( 8 stone ) I shot past that to 8 stone 8, And then 9 stone. I stopped overnight feeds to see if I could maintain weight myself. I did, after 2 years feed free my tube was removed. It's not been out for almost 5 years and altho I drink a pint of build up shake with 2 packs of quavers a day my weight is holding at 10 stone. It's hard work having to eat lots and maintain it but the alternative is losing weight which = poorer health and more chest infections plus another feeding tube. @glouiseatkinson

I am the mum of Ava! All I will say is when I was first pregnant I was so proud and felt so important that I expected the people on the pavements to part like the sea!
14 and 11 years on I still look at my children and think ‘wow’, I made you! Especially when I see my daughter dance and even when my son stomps around the house like a grumpy teenager.. the house is empty without them.
Some people say that you lose your identity once you have children. I found mine. It’s not always a walk in the park but such a precious time! It goes so fast and now I get it.. what my mum use to say to me... when she would worry about me! Still does!
I wish you all the happiness. Xx

That is so well said and I’m really glad you put it out there because with the amount of followers you have you have probably made a big difference to a lot of pregnant womens thought process right now.
My daughter Kathie is about to give birth any day now and she’s the same. She usually has a svelte body and now it’s not. But you know what? She looks more beautiful than ever and she’s exactly like you. She said it’s about the baby and I love my pregnant ? body. ?
she’s a child wearing expert and baby settling expert but as she says being pregnant and becoming a mum gives her much better insight for her career ?
