This time, we’re introducing @nysid faculty and designer @leydenlewisdesignstudio. @leydenlewisdesignstudio created a modern pad for a 91-year old client. The focal point for this room was of course, the curva-linear fireplace. An extension of the room, the design offers curved lines juxtaposed with rectilinear space. It was important that the design and the architectural elements were softened to offset hard lines and create sensual tensions. For the finishing touches, the palette was kept neutral, allowing art and furniture to pop with color. It is essential that interior designers collaborate with construction professionals who are executing the detailed work that is proposed as the design intent for clients. The designer and contractor in service of the client are the main stakeholders for the project and need to be in complete sync.
