The Yulin dog meat festival began today. Every year thousands of dogs are beaten, abused, tortured, boiled alive and eaten at the sickening Yulin dog meat festival. It’s the time of year I dread the most & today my heart is so heavy knowing that these babies are being tortured & killed in such horrific ways. Mate, your post comes from a good place, but it’s such a complex issue that involves hypocrisy and fear of non-Eurocentric practices.
Hypocritical because this is how westernised industrialised farming treats ALL animals that go to slaughter houses and dairy farms.
Rooted in xenophobia because literally no other groups of people band together to stop others from consuming animals they cherish or respect.
Hindus aren’t telling non-Hindus to stop torturing and slaughtering cows. Muslims aren’t telling off non-Muslims for eating bacon. Could you imagine the backlash? If these people who are upset about dogs being killed and eaten, WHY aren’t they upset when it happens to literally every other animal?
It’s a joke.

I have just been thinking about The Concert For Bangladesh that George Harrison organised in the early 70s and I was wondering if something could be organised like it for the Little Dogs and put on a concert called Stop Yulin I’m sure it would do lots of good and the money raised can be used to help save the Dogs and Little Cats, Lots Of Singers would help like Paul McCartney Brian May who also fight for Animals and it would bring it to the public attention! x

@gabriela1o its more illogical to believe billions of people need to go vegan. The only solution is cruelty free processing of animals for food market. The real fight is in finding humane ways to raise and kill animals for food

This is no different to everyday farming and slaughtering..expect we don’t see it we just buy it nicely packaged for us ready to pop in the oven. If you feel about one disgusting event be disgusted by them all !

Billions of animals are killed each year but this is barbaric and so cruel makes me want to cry poor babies must be petrified xxx
