“The Lovers” returns. Earlier this week, we covered Marc Chagall’s “The Lovers” to consider what would be lost from The Met’s walls without the contributions of refugee artists. Today, as #WorldRefugeeDay comes to an end, we un-shroud the painting—but we don’t forget Chagall’s contributions or those of so many other refugees. 🙏 Thank you for joining us all week alongside @theirc to highlight works of art made by refugees.
