Here: @bazluhrmann photographed by @douglaskirkland_ ‘I first met Baz on the set of ‘Moulin Rouge!’ after I was hired as a special photographer to work on the film. I have worked on over 175 films in my career but I’d never been greeted the way Baz greeted me. The night we arrived in Sydney my assistant and I were invited to dinner at the Luhrmann’s house with members of the cast. The next day on set, Baz grabbed a microphone, introduced me, then told everyone how lucky they were to have me on the film! I have worked with him on every project since and he repeats this welcome everytime.’
