Yet as people we have grown and evolved to become kind, considerate and loving parents to our children and I for one always put the needs of my children and family above those of my own - which is great because it’s the right thing to do helping those less fortunate or capable. I thrive on providing for my children and giving back to my parents who have given so much to raise me. But at some point you have to recognise that you are important too, that your own needs matter and need to be heard every once in a while. I’ve spent so much of my life constantly giving and doing things for others that sometimes I forget I exist and have desires of my own. So finding a balance between priorities is my new priority, to value myself as much as I value my relationship with others and to take a little time to myself to reconnect with what makes me the most me that I can be.
