alexander_judge @tcdavis66 I’m a saturation diver and we live in a helium rich environment when at work. Nitrogen becomes toxic when breathed at a certain depth so we breath an oxygen helium mix. The pressurised gas can make itself into your watch and when we decompress to come back to ambient pressure (the surface) the gas expands and can blow your watch up. The helium escape valve lets it out and stops this from happening.
