ナショナルジオグラフィックさんのインスタグラム写真 - (ナショナルジオグラフィックInstagram)「Photo by Aaron Huey @argonautphoto | In the winter of 2000 I was extremely poor, working 12 hours a day at a Christmas tree lot in Boulder, Colorado, while my girlfriend was dancing at a “gentlemen’s club” called the Bustop. We had been living variously in a VW bus, on a friend's couch, and at the local youth hostel at our lowest of lows. In the first few weeks at the tree stand, there was very little traffic, so I sat for hours reading stacks of @natgeo magazines from the '60s, '80s, and '90s (the '70s were missing). I started with the 50-page stories where the photographer was also the writer (Thomas Abercrombie), then made my way through the work of Sam Abell, David Alan Harvey, Steve McCurry, Ed Kashi and many more. By spring I was no longer with the girl, had moved to New York City, where I was sleeping on a floor, and was working as Steve McCurry’s office assistant/coffee boy. After a few months, I left to walk across America with a Leica M6 and one lens, and then started an art commune outside Santa Fe. Eventually I was able to stop selling trees, pulling weeds, digging fence-post holes, painting houses—and people started paying me to make photographs. Even @natgeo (thanks @roseleen) more chapters to come!」5月29日 21時38分 - natgeo
