During her lifetime, Stone co-founded the American Woman Suffrage Association and served as the editor of "The Woman's Journal." 📚  From August to September, four women—Elisabeth Freeman, Ida Craft, Elsie MacKenzie, and Vera Wentworth—traveled north with the wagon. Their journey was followed closely in "The Woman's Journal," which described how the suffragists spent their days "playing the hurdy-gurdy to collect a crowd, making suffrage speeches, selling The Woman's Journal, selling banners and pennants, hat bands and buttons and taking collections."
