This large-scale painting by Pre-Raphaelite painter John Everett Millais is on display in The EY Exhibition: #VanGogh and Britain, alongside a number of British artists who inspired Van Gogh's life in London.

Van Gogh never forgot meeting Millais and seeing this painting for the first time. He admired the Pre-Raphaelites and felt that nature was more 'serious and intimate' in autumn. 🍂
