Most people love to look at pretty things, it’s a form of art expression, and a necessity these days, AND I do it too (although I am really not so good at it). But just think about it, this is IG on 2019, can you imagine how it would be like in 2029? 😳 Maybe there’s an app for us to draw what we picture in our head or even dreams without even going to places! Professional photographers will be out of job soon!😯 I mean, now we can replace a shitty sky with majestic digital aurora sky filter anyway, it makes it less exciting to take the trouble to shoot a real but mediocre photo of aurora?🤔 . Anyway, what I want to say is that replacing boring sky, stamping tourists out of our photos make them perfect yes, but it also created a lot of false expectation for travelers. I often have to equip myself with a mental “anti-filter” when I scroll internet nowadays (“erm, that’s not how Kek Lok Si look in real life🤔). Sometimes the table is turned and people go “OMG this place is beautiful with such gorgeous sunset!!!” on my photos and I’ll feel guilty and disappoint them - “sorry the sky is partially fake 😅”. But it’s so so hard to resist faking the perfection whenever we can (IKR??) and because, #nofilter photos get you like, 25 likes?? I bet this conflict is going to be a social sickness in years soon to come lol. . SO HOW ABOUT! Let us all post all the perfectly edited photo, but at the same time let others also have a choice to see how it is like more realistically?
