#FridaKahlo lived at the Blue House (Casa Azul) for most of her life and died there in 1954. The house, built by her father in 1904, was originally decorated in bourgeois European style, but when Kahlo and Rivera moved there in the mid-1930s they painted the walls vibrant blue and filled it with votive paintings, archaeological finds, and Mexican folk art in the spirit of mexicanidad. Apricot, orange, and pine trees shaded her garden where she grew native flowers and vegetables. The Blue House became a hub for Mexico’s artistic, cultural, and political elite, attracting visitors from all over the world. #FridaKahloBKM⁣⠀

Frida Kahlo vivió en la Casa Azul durante la mayor parte de su vida, y ahí murió en 1954.
