This sculpture, 'Spooning Couple' 2005 by Ron Mueck shows a high level of realism, from the texture of the skin to the careful placement of individual hairs. Mueck frequently experiments with the scale of his sculptures — some of his works are larger scale, but 'Spooning Couples' is approximately half life-size. Before working as an artist Mueck was a puppet and prop maker for television and film, where he developed his precise techniques.
