シーン・マコールさんのインスタグラム写真 - (シーン・マコールInstagram)「I first met David Lama (Fuzzi) at a European Youth Cup in 2001. I was 13, he was 10 and he was fore-running our Qualification routes. He was a climbing prodigy. Over the years, I got to climb with him, train with him, explore with him, laugh with him. @davidlama_official, @jorgverhoeven and @magmidt took me to the top of the “Aiguille de Midi” in Chamonix after the World Cup one year. He made me wake up at 7am after partying the whole night prior. I remember that day as if it were yesterday, it was such a cool new experience; we rapped off the backside of the gigantic spire and climbed the whole day at 12,000 feet (3800m). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At 20 years old (2008 - pic 1), I achieved my first World Cup podium (it was in boulder), and David took the gold. That same year (pic 2) I got my first ever Lead World Cup podium and who won, David. He has been in my life for almost two decades and I didn’t think of him as my competitor, he was my friend striding down his own parallel path and enjoying every minute. Fuzzi was always happy, smiling, with a little grin on his face. Any competitor of that era will remember him like that. Although he moved into the alpine and focused on that, I always saw him at a competition or in Innsbruck when I visited; he was always cheerful, and I always loved getting to see him. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ David’s accomplishments in climbing, on the wall, in the mountains, and basically everything he did were nothing short of amazing. He was happy, motivated, fun to be around, and a good person; He will be missed. 🙏 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ David Lama, Hansjörg Auer, and Jess Roskelley passed away while trying to climb M16 on Howse Peak in the Canadian Rockies. Although I didn’t know the others personally, I knew their accomplishments and they were also legends. It’s hard to find the right words, nothing can properly encompass the loss or rightfully describe this tragedy. My heart goes out to all their loved ones, friends, and families. RIP ♥️」4月20日 18時02分
