The Crab eating fox is found in multiple countries in South America. It often lives along wooded river banks but can also be found in grassy savannas and in the mountains. While its favorite food is crab, they also eat eggs, fruit, insects and lizards. The Crab eating fox weighs 10-17 pounds. It is said to be easy to tame and there are people in South America who have them as pets. While it is not endangered, it is disappearing in certain parts of its range due to habitat destruction.
