新潟の名物と言えば笹団子！今回は人生初、出来立てホカホカの笹団子をいただきました。やっぱり全然違う！新幹線に乗る前に笹団子のお店を探しこちらのやま路というお店を見つけました。ほっこり。
Niigata is known for their rice and sake but another specialty is SASADANGO. SASA means bamboo leaf and DANGO means rice cake. So just like it’s name, it’s a mugwort flavored mochi with sweet red bean paste inside, wrapped in bamboo leaves. We sought out a sasadango shop while in Niigata and got to try freshly made warm sasadango. It was so incredibly delicious.
