Tonight we go to my favourite restaurant which is something in between a club and a dining place (you eat while you dance or you dance while you eat I don’t know what describe this place best) Being here for this important moment in my life is probably the best thing that could happen. 1st because I LOVE being here and I LOVE my life here and my friends and colleagues here are pure gems of the country. Looking at people’s life in a cultural space that is not part of your usual routine brings you other points of view and perspectives. 2nd because this trip is the consecration of 2 years of hard work to make this @extra__ordinaire project happening. And basically the resume of my last 10 years of work. Looking back at it, I am so happy about this fantastic path I have been through. It was for sure not easy BUT it was worth doing it. From fashion to live performances to art exhibitions, I cherish every pieces of it. Biggest souvenirs are the Hyères festival (and not only for the prizes 😏), my shows during Paris fashion week (special mention to the Maatjes and the Cheese on Fleek collections), my teaching at Institut Francais de la Mode, my Till We Drop exhibition at galeries lafayette , my collaboration with CREAHM, my fancy/messy kids workshop, my trips to Japan, Mexico, Papua 😍, America, China, Korea to name a few, my Reflection exhibition at musée de la mode, my tattoo by and with Wim Delvoye (life achievement), the 1000th costume of Manneken Pis (2nd life achievement), my collaborations with Yelle ♥️, Meg Stuart, Damien Jalet (OMG this time together in Mexico! 📡), Boris Charmatz (especially 10.000 Gestures in Manchester which was a visual epiphany to me), and last but not least; this fashion show/collection we did in Bombay in 10 days with my dear students (I think that everybody who participated to this project is going to remember it forever 🤣) Here we go for round 3. I can tell you that I am ready to kick some asses because round 2 trained me super well. What you saw until now is just an avant gout of what I can do 💪🏼. Belgium lets celebrate soon!」4月5日 18時52分
