Many refugees arrive in France after surviving dangerous journeys, with few personal possessions. Their wardrobes may consist of only the clothes on their backs, along with whatever they choose from donation bins. Fashion becomes a way to maintain ties to their homelands, or to manifest how they wish to be seen in this new country. The collaborative project "Sneakers Like Jay-Z" portraits the personal styles of migrants from Sudan, Afghanistan, Guinea, and beyond.
