Are you a people pleaser, like me? 🧐 Pretty much my whole life has been spent seeking peoples approval. I had a rough time in my teenage years and it left me insecure AF about what others thought of me 😅 As I left university and ventured into adulthood I realised I still had this underlying need to please every person I met. I would try so hard to make everyone else happy and see the good in others, that I would sacrifice my own happiness in the process. It was a vicious cycle, one which I can FINALLY say I’m out of at the ripe old age of 26 🥳😂 Now admittedly I’m pretty sh*t at adulting. Council tax - what’s that? Mortgages - clueless mate 🤷🏼‍♀️ But one thing I’ve learnt as I’ve grown up is that I’m never going to please everyone, no matter how hard I try. And trust me, I’ve really tried 😬 Especially now I have this growing online platform, my need to develop a thick skin has grown tenfold. I simply can’t put my value in other people’s opinions of me, because a lot of people online probably think I’m a 💩 This has given me the push to finally come to a place of acceptance. I’ve realised that as long as I am happy within myself and have people in my life who accept every part of me, I’m gonna be alright ✅ Not everyone is going to like me, not everyone is going to support me, not everyone is going to agree with my message. But as long as know in my heart that I am a good person with good intentions, that’s all I can do 🙏🏼 I hope that if you’re a people pleaser out there reading this that you realise that you are enough too - just as you are 💖 #deepAF #peoplepleaser #youareenough #selfconfidence #selfacceptance #selflove

cornwallcreatives @zannavandijk I can relate to this so much and always take it to heart when somebody criticises what I’m doing in my growing online community, mainly because I am frustrated that they can’t see I’m trying so hard to do good and make a difference just because I want to help, I’m not even paid to! If I was doing something awful I’d be more understanding of the criticism! I often think I don’t know how people with so many more followers than me put up with it because you get it all the time. So go you for reaching a place of acceptance 💪 like you say, as long as you know yourself that you’re a good person trying to do good you don’t need the approval of others
