The Democratic presidential primary is bringing new attention to how white-collar crimes are prosecuted.⁣

2020 candidates want Wall Street executives locked up for crimes committed on their watch, but it’s just not that easy, warns Former FBI Director James Comey.⁣

White-collar cases require prosecutors to show that the person they’re charging knew what they were doing was wrong at the time, Comey said.⁣

"Show me that these bank CEOs, when they engaged in these transactions, knew they were involved in a fraudulent transaction. It is incredibly difficult to do," he said.⁣

You can read more on what Comey, who was once the top prosecutor in Manhattan, said on the issue, at our link in bio. ⁣
