For like 35 mins while watching @USmovie I was trying to think of the perfect snark to rib @ルピタ・ニョンゴ & @jordanpeele for that “5 on it/“get in rhythm Jason” offbeat snapping scene. .....AND THEN THE GENIUS OF IT HIT ME LIKE A TON OF BRICKS towards the end.....I’m still stunned

dvanbooker @questlove What I have realized is that “i got 5 on it” is played only one time in the movie. The other times are a remake of “Why You Treat Me So Bad” which would lend itself to Red’s speech to Adelaide (“why didn’t you take me with you”). Red’s entire revenge was because Adelaide “treated her so bad”, thus the song “Why you treat me so bad”.

adventuresofaisha @questlove can you explain this to me because she was a well trained dancer so how could she stay on beat for that but not the snapping.. this is also understanding she’s the copy not the original. My husband and I had a long drive home trying to understand this! What did I misssss 🤦‍♀️
