The results are in: stick to water. Harvard researchers have found that the more sweetened beverages a person drinks, the greater their risk is of dying from heart disease.
Researchers found sugary drinks were associated with a moderately higher risk of dying from breast cancer or colon cancer, according to a new study.
The study also found that swapping sugary drinks for diet versions could be helpful, though researchers still recommend people drink water. The findings add to a growing body of research suggesting sugary drinks can cause people to gain weight and pointing to a slew of other health conditions, including obesity, Type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
