Strangely enough, diabetes does not run in my family, one of the many oddities about this disease. It took me by utmost surprise (even after loosing over 20 pounds and having clumps of hair fall out of my head). I was hospitalized for three days leading up to Christmas. “How?” and “Why?”, were questions that I never stopped asking since the moment I got diagnosed. No, I did not consume abnormal amounts of sugar nor did I participate in poor exercise routines (that’s not how it works). One day my pancreas decided it didn’t want to do it’s job.. I’ve poked my fingers and injected insulin into my stomach, legs, and arms millions of times. (But after the math.. after two years it’s been roughly ~8,500 times- given that I only ingested food 4 times a day) I’m sharing this story of my life, not to make you feel sorry for me, but in the hopes to raise awareness of this incurable disease that many of us live with. . Also check out this super derpy picture of me. You can sorta see my CGM on my arm. Important safety info: Freestylelibre.us/safety-information」3月19日 1時12分 - abbottglobal
