Have you heard of sneak-and-peek warrants? Your local law enforcement and stark defenders of the fourth amendment have.
Delayed-notice search warrants, better known as sneak-and-peek warrants, allow law enforcement to secretly install cameras inside private businesses to monitor illegal activity. They were formalized as part of the USA Patriot Act, but have been used since the 70’s.
In the human trafficking investigation that ensnared the New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, Florida police have made more than 300 arrests. Hidden cameras were installed in five of the eight spas under investigation, police said.
