Photos by @Thomas Peschak | Sleeping on assignment, or places I sleep while shooting stories for Nat Geo. To photograph humpback whales feeding on herring, I spent months exploring the seas off Canada's Great Bear Rainforest. For a few glorious weeks, I lived on Gill Island, deep in the heart of Gitga'at territory, the home of @bcwhales scientific research station (third picture). The marine realm, just steps from the front door, is one of the most important cetacean habitats in North America, but I must admit that an outdoor bathtub from which one can whale- watch was equally memorable. #bathroomgoals #bedroomgoals For more behind-the-scenes images from National Geographic assignments, follow @Thomas Peschak
